Arbetsmetod
I work with photography in form of installation, but I am deeply invested in expanding my practice beyond traditional photography and exploring new mediums to enhance the viewer’s experience and understanding.
I am continually exploring new ways to express myself through interactive installations. Material selection is a critical aspect of my practice; often, materials are chosen to symbolize concepts or terms, adding layers of meaning to the work.

Presentation
Samaneh Roghani (b. 1984) is an Iranian artist based in Malmö, Sweden. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Photography from Azad University in Tehran, as well as a BFA and an MFA from Malmö Art Academy at Lund University.
In her practice Samneh integrate her personal experiences into her works, often incorporating photographic self-portraits to infuse authenticity and intimacy. She create experiences in installation form that engage the audience on multiple sensory levels, blending visual, auditory, and tactile elements. These installations serve as a lens through which to explore the complexities of contemporary societies, offering profound insights into the struggles for equality, autonomy, and human rights, with a specific focus on the challenges faced by women. Hailing from Iran, her art carries an added layer of insight into the enduring spirit of Iranian women, shedding light on their ongoing journey for justice and empowerment. Roghani believes this struggle transcends borders and is a global issue that demands our ongoing commitment to achieving true equality in society.
Her work has been shown in both solo and group exhibitions across Sweden and Denmark, including at Charlottenborg Kunsthal in Copenhagen, Sorø Kunstmuseum in Denmark, Fotografisk Center in Copenhagen, Malmö Konsthall, Kulturhuset in Stockholm, Röda Sten Konsthall in Gothenburg, and Åstorp Konsthall.
She has received grants from Konstnärsnämnden, Malmö Municipality, and Malmö Art Museum, and have also been awarded by Charlottenborg Kunsthal.
