In 1997, strolling about the streets of Stockholm, I took notice of the copious amount of stains, caused by urine, in various places all over the city. I made a quasi-scientific investigation of this "phenomena", which I had not seen in cities in central Europe. Is this only a manifestation of an urgent need, or is it also a kind of ritual exercise of power? The committers of this criminal act – at least in Sweden – are probably of the male sex (dogs included). I used a kind of aesthetics that could have been used by the police to emphasize the criminal aspect of the phenomena. Pissplaces is a series of 10 color photos. In 2018, I printed six of them using direct print on aluminum, 50x50 cm each, for the solo show ”Andropause” at Ahlbergshallen in Östersund, Sweden, November 2018.
