About HUB

The artists, illustrators and photographers who participate in the project The Art to Share; Image and form were invited to participate in a group exhibition at Konstnärshuset in the summer 2017.

The response was large and the applications flowed in – 47 artists were given the opportunity to present their works in Stora and Lilla Galleriet. Due to the great interest, the exhibition expanded to include the foyer and staircase. The selection was made in collaboration between Celia Prado, artistic director and project manager of SKF / Konstnärshuset and Ola Öhlin, project manager for the Art to participate.

The exhibition’s name is HUB – a collective point where a variety of multifaceted creative expressions merge, different cultures meet and enrich each other, contacts and artists get the chance to reach a wider audience. All participants live and work in Sweden.

Welcome!

From SKF/Konstnärshuset: Celia Prado
From The Art to Participate: Ola Öhlin

About the project The Art to Participate

The Art to Participate: Image and design is a project initiated in the county of  Stockholm, Östergötland and Södermanland, with the aim to facilitate for foreign-born artists (both newly arrived and those who have been in Sweden for a longer period of time) to become a part of the Swedish art scene. The project also carries the objective that the regional cultural life should take part in often-overlooked artistries and intercultural networks. The project constitutes a platform for collaborations in-between artists, designers, institutions, organizations, and associations. It will organize regional meetings and meeting grounds to provide information and experience sharing amongst colleagues, institutions and actors within the artistic fields. The project also holds the possibility for established artists to become a mentor/colleague and thereby broadens one’s network.
The project builds on experiences from preceding work. For 11 years, project leader Ola Öhlin has successfully worked with vocational integration projects within the artistic field, in the Swedish provinces Östergötland and Sörmland.
